Testing a run capacitor can be done in a couple of different ways. The traditional bench test method and underload. There’s a difference between the two methods, as one is done with no power applied and a multi meter set to the microfarad setting and the other with power applied and connected to a load, such as a fan motor.
Underload testing can be carried out using some readings and a formula as seeen in this older video, I apologize up front for the video quality, it was a Sonim haha https://youtu.be/8NHZa8JOq30. Or can be done using the Supco IDVM-550 with the meter set to watts and liked to the TechLink app.
