It’s no secret in the Residential HVAC Industry that the Trane model 4TEE3F air handlers had issues, SEVERE ISSUES, with indoor coils leaking. This particular air handler, had its indoor coil replaced in 2014.
Now, 3 short years later, the replacement coil is leaking. The system was installed in 2005, it’s a Trane 4TEE3F65 air handler matched to a Trane 4TWX4060 outdoor unit. (5 ton XL14i Heat Pump)
The system had a 10 year warranty on the indoor coil, when the original coil was replaced in 2014, it was covered. The replacement coil only had a one year warranty, which is expired as of now.
Also featured in this video is the Fieldpiece SRL8 Heated Diode Refrigerant Leak Detector. I’ve yet to find a better leak detector for finding R-410A leaks, or one that is as sensitive.
