Most all VRV and mini split air conditioner filters are washable and can trap mircobial and bacteria. Using a filter cleaner like Chinook by Errecom can help reduce filter contaminants. Spray the filter generously on both sides, shake off excessive cleaner and let dry. Chinook has a slight neutral odour that dissipates quickly. If the filter is extremely dirty, it may have to be blown out with compressed air or flushed with water before applying Chinook.
