Sight glasses are typically found on refrigeration systems and are not used in residential HVAC. In this video, I demonstrate how helpful they can actually be on a residential system. Obviously, a sight glass isn’t the most precise way to check the charge on a residential system, but it can be a very helpful visual aid and a quick way of keeping an eye on your systems refrigerant levels without having to constantly gauge up on the unit.
